"The present collection of seventeen choral settings written for mixed choir, were composed by Fanny Hen-sel-Mendelssohn in 1846, one year before her death. She based them on texts by Lenau, Geibel, Goethe, Uhland, Eichendorff and Hensel. In addition to the six choral pieces published during her lifetime as the ""Gartenlieder op.3"", this volume includes the first publication of eleven additional works."
