Fanny Hensel: Job; Ev. – Wandsbeker Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Hamburg, Germany

St. Stephan-Kirche Hamburg Stephanstraße 117, Hamburg, Deutschland

The Wandsbeker Chamber Choir - founded in January 2022 - cordially invites you to its 4th project. As part of the musical devotion for the hour of Jesus' death on Good Friday at 3pm in St. Stephan's Church, works by Fanny Hensel, Gabriel Fauré and Johann Sebastian Bach will be heard. The liturgical leitmotif follows a musical exploration of the question "What is a human being?" in view of the Old Testament person Job, meditates on the Latin text of the Requiem and ultimately concludes in the impressive cry "We sit down with tears and call out to you in the grave: rest gentle, rest gentle!". Connecting texts to round off the devotion are read by Pastor Dr Katrin Schindehütte.
