The Mecklenburg composer Emilie Mayer, whose life dates are almost identical to those of Richard Wagner, was amazingly successful in her time, her works were performed, many of them appeared in print. After her death from pneumonia in 1883, however, she was forgotten surprisingly quickly.

2023 marks the 140th anniversary of her death († April 10, 1883 in Berlin). A number of retrospectives are planned for this occasion, including by the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt/Oder.
Furore Verlag has edited many piano and chamber music works such as string quintets, string quartets and piano trios as well as her three overtures, the piano concerto and the symphonies  3, 4 and 5/7. More info here
