The Sonata fantasia was composed in 1928, under an over-whelming impression of the beauty of the rising sun at sea. As my first sufficiently serious and fairly successful composition, I dedicated it to my mother, and performed it at a concert of senior students in a Belgrade concert hall. (L. Maric)
