Description
The orchestral work Herz, mein Herz, a tribute to Josephine Lang, was commissioned by the University City of Tübingen in 2023 for the opening concert of the Tübingen Women Composers Festival. The composition takes up motifs from Josephine Lang’s song of the same name.
Heart, my heart – these words are at the beginning of several poems by well-known German poets, including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (Herz, mein Herz, was soll das geben, 1775) and Joseph von Eichendorff (Herz, mein Herz, warum so fröhlich, 1837) as well as Heinrich Heine (1823).
