language is inspired by the intensive study of Beethoven, at the same time progressively and
independent.
Ethel Smyth studied composition with Carl Reinecke at the Leipzig Conservatory, when she wrotes her string quartet in C minor. It is inspired by the study of
Beethoven‘s chamber music.
