On the occasion of Bach‘s 250th date of death, Olga Magidenko was given a commission for the Heidelberg Festival „Gegenwelten“ under the condition to use a theme by bach. She choose her favorite theme from the „well-tempered piano“: Prelude es minor. She decided to write a piece with „E“. Therefore „Ein Edelstein“ (a jewel) reflects the theme by Bach and „einfache
Einfassung“ (simple edging) means her framing work.
