”A wonderful inner mood accompanied me during the composition of this work. It was as if I were walking calmly along, my hands clasped, and were able to catch glimpses of a richly illuminated world (how grateful I am for this experience!).” Matilde Capuis
The Italian composer wrote works for orchestra and choir, many songs and a lot of chamber music with a great preference for the human voice and string instruments. She was awarded various composition
prizes such as the “Premio Quartetto Veneziano”, the “Premio Circolo Universitario” and the “Concorso
International de Compositoras H. Rubinstein” Buenos Aires.
In 1969, she was offered a professorship for composition and music theory at the Verdi Conservatory
in Turino. There she taught up her emeritus status in 1983.
