Bringing music by female and male composers into an equal dialogue – that is the goal of the new concert series “Ladies and Gentleman,” which, due to the pandemic, will kick off one year late at the Kreuzkirche. Thus, the first two concerts of the series refer to anniversaries of the year 2020.

The first concert took place on 24.10.

The second concert is a song recital on the occasion of the 100th birthday / 50th anniversary of the death of the poet Paul Celan last year. In the center are settings of Celan poems from the pens of Noam Sheriff (“Nocturnes”) and Carmen Maria Cârneci (“The No Man’s Rose”). They are joined by songs by the composer Fanny Hensel and Viktor Ullmann, who was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944.

Bass: Jochen Faulhammer
Piano: Ayako Ito
