German Music Council honors Furore publisher Renate Matthei

The members of the German Music Council appointed Renate Matthei as an honorary member at the 2021 general meeting. Renate Matthei and her “Furore-Verlag” campaign for the publication of sheet music and books by female composers. The laudation for Renate Matthei was given by the composer Dr. Charlotte Seither.
Prof. Martin Maria Krüger, President of the German Music Council, at the ceremony: “A strong network for music requires strong personalities with great goals and ideals. The German Music Council is therefore very pleased to welcome a new honorary member in its ranks, Renate Matthei, who has been committed to music life in Germany in a variety of ways for a long time with great passion and perseverance. Your commitment is a role model and inspiration for a society that has to reflect again and again on the unifying power of music and the democracy-relevant function of culture. ”
