Emilie Mayer 2022: 210. birthday 2022

2022-01-11T09:18:41+01:0011. January 2022|Current Posts|

Emilie Mayer was an exception in the 19th century: she wrote sonorous symphonic works, first influenced by Viennese Classicism, later more in the more romantic style. In the middle of the 19th century, Mayer was vice-director of the Berlin Opera Academy and an honorary member of the Philharmonic Society in Munich. Their works are worth rediscovering. She wrote a wide oeuvre of string, piano and chamber music, including 8 symphonies, 7 concert overtures and a piano concerto. In the course of the year, many more of her works will be published by Furore Verlag. All already published works can be found here.

We are very pleased that google also commemorates Fanny Hensel with a doodle.
