Margaret Brandman composed this piece specifically for inclusion in a program of her original works that she performed at the World Forum concert, held at Oxford University (UK) in August 2012.
The work is both impressionistic and lyrical, featuring rich contemporary harmonies while
exploring the wide compass of the piano. The free rhapsodic sections are counterbalanced by
engaging rhythmic sections. The dynamic range and delicate sonorities help to create relaxed
and meditative mood.
