Description
It was in 2010 that I first went to the Gesellschaft für Neue Musik Hannover with the idea of introducing composers from former Yugoslavia in a concert, a series or a project. The idea was very well received there. The result was the “Briefe aus und in die Heimat” project, with the idea of creating a cultural dialogue between the former Yugoslavian countries and Germany. The project, led by Cornelia Hemmann (cultural scientist), Snežana Nešić (composer) and myself, has been a
great success. It has won many prizes and awards. One of the project’s many components was a programme entitled “Medio in ponte”, which was the idea of my colleague, pianist Marija Laban-Urosevic. She suggested presenting female composers from Germany and former Yugoslavia.
The project developed quite logically thereafter. Furore Verlag immediately agreed to publish the composers’ scores, and here is the result. Many thanks to all those who believed in this project.
