„Die Niemandsrose – Drei Lieder nach Paul Celan“ was
composed in 2011/2012 and first performed by the devotioModerna Ensemble in the concert „Ah, Celan…”. The
performance was part of the 2012 ’International Week for
New Music’ in Bucharest, a festival which had Surrealism
as its core theme that year.
The Three Celan-Lieder have been primarily written for
(bass-)baritone. However, they may also be addressed to
a low female voice since the poetic texts themselves do
not indicate a male-specific lyrical subject.
