Thread games use a closed thread or cord to knot
a wide variety of figures using simple finger movements:
they can be found in many different
cultures around the world.
Some have a magical-ritual meaning, others serve
as characters for communication, many are
accompanied by verses or stories – and still
others are simply surprising images of animals,
plants or other things.
My „thread games“ use different scales: the 5-,
7- and 8- tone scales are therefore also eponymous:
the 5-, 7- and 8-pointed star. The three
identical flutes imitate each other, find each
other, influence each other, link each other – and
there are surprising twists and turns to create
new unity. The three movements can be performed
as a whole or individually.
