„…your dreams fall nowhere….
There is an expression used in the world of antique furniture – a „marriage“ – when
two separate and individual items, often from different periods, are joined together
to create something new.
Basically a forgery.
In this piece I have written a variation on „Barafostus Dream” (from the Fitzwilliam
Virginal Book) and combined it with a setting of a poem by Rose Ausländer („noch
bist du da“ – „you are still here“). In both cases it is a bout a dream – with Barafostus
there is no explanation. In the poem by Rose Ausländer it is more specific.
