“For these I weep“ was composed shortly after the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7th 2023. It is dedicated to the victims of the atrocity. The work
premiered on December 29, 2023, in „Dock4“ in Kassel, Hesse. It was performed by the orchestra Camerata Kassel, conducted by Maria Radzikhovskiy.
The title is a quotation from the Bible, the book of Lamentations of Jeremiah, in which Jeremiah laments the once glorious Jerusalem, which has now been
destroyed by enemies. Its young men and women have been led into captivity, its houses are devastated, and its temple is no longer visited by pilgrims.
