Description
Ruth op. 27 (1881/82) Biblical scenes written by Robert Musiol translated by Ellen Brock for soli, choir and orchestra
“Ruth” was premiered in Munich on March 5, 1883, at the 2nd Oratorio Society Concert conducted by Max Zenger. The Neue Zeitschrift für Musik reported on the premiere: “The work is a new proof of the outstanding talent of the artist, who handles the musical forms with dexterity, knows how to orchestrate with spirit and expresses the content of the text truly and warmly. The choruses in particular are of good effect.”
