In this piece, Olga Magidenko uses “hoquetus”, a contrapuntal stylistic device in which the
musical flow is repeatedly interrupted by pauses. The fact that the music remains flowing is
due to the fact that the pauses overlap each other. Whenever one voice pauses, another takes
over.
