For the first time, the German publisher, Furore Verlag, in co-operation with the German armed forces, has announced a competition for women composers of all nationalities.
The competition required a work for brass quintet (2 trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba), lasting 10 minutes, and of intermediate difficulty.
