Her fate inspired Mel Bonis to create masterpieces. This impressionistic piece with its dazzling harmonies, its delicate and cool beauty and its passionate moments is a paean to life, love and death. Mel Bonis' image of the biblical figure of Salomé is strongly oriental in colour. The entire piece thrives on changing atmospheres: slow syncopations are followed by light-footed glissandi, agonising and mysterious psalmody accompanies sensual passages, surprising tempo changes allow passion and destruction determine the musical form. The cycle comes to a close with this complex and passionate piece. With its original and elegant harmonies, its yearning rhythms, its sensuality and its oriental-coloured moments, this piece has all the characteristics of the great works of the composer's mature period. Mel Bonis creates the image of a powerful and seductive Cleopatra in her magnificent palace, utilising the unlimited possibilities of the large orchestra. The work consists of three preludes of 4 minutes each, reminiscent of a shining star. The first prelude describes the end of the night, the song of the birds that begin to sing at dawn and the sunrise. singing at dawn and the rising of the sun. The second prelude emphasizes the gentle morning sun and the awakening of nature to the sun's rays. the sun's rays. Yuri Kuoda and Sarah Jacob play Florentine Mulsant- Sonate für Violin and Violoncello op.96

Yuri Kuroda: Violin Violoncello: Sarah Jacob The 12-minute sonata in three movements was composed in April 2020. It was commissioned  by Florent Audibert. The first movement, lasting 4'30, consists of a melodic theme played by the cello and violin (bar 1 to bar 8). It is then developed in the form of five variations.
