edited by Christine Géliot

The fantasia consists of four movements that flow into each other:
Modéré, Scherzo, Très lent, Final vif.
Composed in 1906, the work was premiered in January 1910 at the Théâtre du Châtelet by the Concerts Colonne conducted by Gabriel Pierné, with Madame Henri Deblauwe playing the piano.
Since the orchestral score is lost, only the autograph manuscript (dated 1927) of a version for piano septet, string quartet and two flutes survived, from which Yves Henry reconstructed
the present orchestral version.
