Chamber opera based on a fairy tale by Brothers Grimm for five singers and five instrumentalists

The work was commissioned by the Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg, in co-operation with the Papertheater Nurmberg, as part of project involving three composers: myself and my colleagues Volker Blumenthaler and Dieter Buwen. Each had to write a short chamber opera based on a fairy tale, to be performed at the Heiliggeistspital, Nuremberg on 21st and 22nd April 2013.
My own opera, “Fundevogel”, based on a fairy tale by Brothers Grimm, is for five singers and five instrumentalists. Each of the characters are reflected in the instrumentation:

Fundevogel (either boy soprano or light female soprano) = Flute
Lenchen (lyrical soprano) = Violin
Cook (high mezzosoprano) = Oboe
Woodman (high baritone) = Horn
Servant (low baritone) = Cello
