Score
For virtuoso soprano
The piece was not conceived as an independent piece, but as part of a project. The text by James Joyce should be accompanied by a soundscape, mainly with an electronically generated heartbeat – sometimes at rest, sometimes accelerated, sometimes suspended. Other sounds in the background are also conceivable, e.g. whispering, murmuring, electronically generated sounds, etc. It is all up to the director. The heartbeat does not have to match the tempo of the singer who should feel completely free.
The composer leaves everything open………..
One can, however, be guided by the structure of the piece:
It is serial and the Fibonacci numbers guide the proportions.
