Larisa Vrhunc studied composition in Ljubljana and Geneva. In 1999 she finished her composition studies at the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon (with G. Amy). She has taken part in different composition courses (S. Gubaidulina, B. Ferneyhough, M. Jarrell, K. Huber, H. Lachenmann, H. Kyburz, P. Dusapin and others). She has a PhD in musicology. Since 2000 she has been teaching music analysis and listening skills at the Musicology Department of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She was awarded several prizes home and abroad and received some important scholarships, residencies and commissions.
