Sophia Jani is a composer of contemporary music who lives in Munich and Berlin. Her compositions have been debuted by the New Jersey Symphony (directed by David Robertson), the Yale Philharmonia, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Goldmund Quartet, and soloists Jiji Kim and Eunbi Kim, among others. Her debut album “Music as a Mirror” was released on the Berlin label “Neue Meister” in February 2022. Sophia Jani is also one of the founders and artistic directors of “Feet Become Ears”, a new series of concerts featuring performances of specially commissioned contemporary chamber music in eight concerts starting in spring 2023. Sophia Jani received her master’s degree in composition from the Yale School of Music, where she studied under David Lang and Martin Bresnick with generous support from the Fulbright Foundation.
