Larisa Vrhunc studied composition in Ljubljana and Geneva. In 1999 she finished her composition studies at the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon (with G. Amy). She has taken part in different composition courses (S. Gubaidulina, B. Ferneyhough, M. Jarrell, K. Huber, H. Lachenmann, H. Kyburz, P. Dusapin and others). She has a PhD in musicology.
